Nothing announces the arrival of the season like the perfect summer scent. Whether you love a fruity body lotion or a romantic spritz, here are our favorite bath and body collections that will keep you moisturized and smelling good this summer.

For the Vanilla Lovers

Bath & Body Works Summer Vanillas Signature Collection: Bath and Body Works brings us a special treat only available until this August with its signature Summer Vanillas Collection. The line has great summer products for even the non-vanilla fans; there is only a very slight hint of vanilla in each, and we loved them all so much, we couldn't pick just one! The body lotion ($12), shower gel ($10.50), fragrance mist ($12), cooling mist ($12) and tasty lip gloss ($7) are available in four delectable scents. There's Lemon Vanilla, a fresh, citrusy scent; Berry Vanilla, which has notes of blueberry and vanilla cream; Apricot Vanilla, the most fruity and tropical scent of the bunch; and Coconut Vanilla, an updated, addicting take on the classic summer coconut.

For fall, winter and spring, you can keep pretty much the same beauty routine. But when summer comes around with its heat, humidity and trips to the pool and beach, you may need to make a few switches to make the most of your summer months. BV has five easy steps you can take to make the transition from spring to summer.

1) Protect yourself from the sun. Most people think protecting themselves from the sun just means applying sunscreen, but the sun can be damaging to many other parts of your body besides your skin. In the summer months, your hair products (to protect your hair from breakage and drying out), lip balm (sunburned lips? ouch!) and even nail top coats (to avoid yellowing) should all also have an SPF or ingredient to protect against sun damage.

2) Recognize changes in skin tone. In the summer, no matter how much sunblock you apply, it's likely that your skin tone will be a few shades darker than it is in the fall or winter. But if you don't have the cash to buy new foundation for each season, the summer solution is simple–you can mix your foundation or face powder with bronzer for a lighter, more summery look, or you can go a little more natural by just wearing bronzer on the places the sun will highlight your face–your cheeks, nose, forehead and chin.

It's the age-old question: should I wear blush? Many women shy away from it because they aren't sure if they should wear it with their skin color, but the truth is no matter your complexion, with just a little bit of blush you can bring out your inner glow. BV on Beauty is here to give you the right steps and share our favorite blush picks.

Help! Where do I begin?

  • To find the right shade, you want to go with your body's natural coloring. Try to pick a shade that's closest to the shade of your cheeks when you are flustered after exercise.
  • For darker complexions: Your blush should be in the brown and burgundy families. A blush with just a touch of shimmer will accent the contours of your face.
  • For lighter complexions: You'll lean more more towards the coral, peach and pink color families.

Pink lipsticks: Celebrities like Kerry Washington in a pale pink and Rihanna in an electric magenta have shown us that pink lipstick shades aren't just for Barbies anymore. Try your hand at pink this Spring while keeping in mind that the darker your complexion, the brighter colors you'll be able to pull off. For a soft, romantic look, try a pale pink like Mac's Cremesheen Lipstick in Shy Girl . For a bolder look, go for a more poppy of MAC's shades like Hollywood Nights.
