From HelloBeautiful.com:
You know how the saying goes, "Black don't crack," well although I'm black I can't even front, I know sometimes this is a bald head lie, plain and simple. There are many African American's that just don't age well. Period. BUT, as a whole I have to say my beautiful people of color age pretty damn good compared to other races. While I don't want to make this out to be a black/white issue, posting posts and viewing pics of celebs all day long I can't help but see how gracefully we tend to age. Although I can't go through every single average Joe walking down the street, I can however pick out celebs.
12. LisaRaye, 43. Though she sometimes annoys me, I'd officially be a hater if I didn't give the woman her props. She is 43 and fabulous!
11. Common, 39. Proving that some of the high yella fellas still got it, Mr. Common sense will forever hold the subtle sex appeal of an African king and the wisdom of an old soul. I can't even front, I was surprised myself when I saw how close to 40 he is, it doesn't even matter because he still has "it."

Yes, blacks are fortunate in the ageless beauty department, however, there're also sizzling White women that are timeless beauties as well (just not as many as the sistas). Angelina Jolie is the hottest White woman since Grace Kelly. Displaying photos of Brittany Spears and Lindsey Lohan next to photos of Stacey Dash and Gabrielle Union was embarrassing. Is Lindsey really just 24 years old?!?!?

@Poboy
Yeah, but we really can't give caucasians full credit for Angelina Jolie.
Her mom, I believe is (I could be wrong ) from Brazil. So, she got lucky on that. But this article isn't saying something we don't already know.
The caucasian ladies I know in their twenties is starting to show cracks in their early thirties. Heidi Klum is beautiful and youthful looking. Seal is a lucky guy. She may be an exception.

Anyone can look good for their age if they take good care of themselves. Blacks usually NATURALLY look good as they age but some don't age well do to illnesses such as cancer and diabetes. Drinking alcohol is also dehydrating. Blacks have an upper hand on the head start of aging gracefully because of the rich melanin content in their skin. But even with that, they need to limit their sun exposure if they want to look their best. As a black woman, I don't go out in the sun when it is very hot. I use umbrellas or hats if I have to go out for long periods of time so personally I get less wrinkles than someone who stays out in the sun without any protection for long periods of time. Over all, Black people look better than whites when it comes to aging. More whites than blacks get collagen injections, face lifts and butt implants. Black people, you just don't know how blessed you are! :)

It is good to live a life not hating, being bitter or scornful. Add taking care of yourself, eating right, execising and trusting in God and trying to live a life acceptable to him. It begins on the inside and works it way out. Stop hating, do good, live long and be beautiful like these famous and us not so famous people.

What a farce and lie!
As BV pointed out in an article a few days ago, black women suffer the health problems of 55 year white women at age 35!!
In other words, obese black women are as wrinkled as 55 year old white women at age 35!! This isn't me making this up, BV itself stated this!!

Also, I'll admit that light skinned (more white blood) blacks like the one in the photo age more gracefully than darker skinned (more pure bred blacks), but any amount of black in a black person's blood stream means they age faster than a white person!! They die sooner as well, from their unhealthy lifestyles (example is the extreme obesity rate among blacks!!!)!!.

@jim don't hate jim, although there is an obesity problem in the black community, it doesn't affect all black women or men. the majority of us are fit and don't look our age. i'm 63 and have been told i look 40. if it wasn't for the gray in my hair i could probably pass for 40. BELIEVE IT OR NOT.

it shows you how much you don't know about black people are made of. Most white celebrities are pretty only with make up. you take away the make up and there you have it. Darker skin people has more melanin, in fact the only people who do not have melanin is the white race. Asians, Indians, blacks, Hispanics and etc..has melanin on their skin. If you are mixed , you will have melanin on the skin and melanin serves many purposes. I get mistaken for 16 year old all the times and I am in my mid-20s. That is call Natural beauty.. now ask a white woman to go outside with no make-up. She just can't.

My people, my people, why are you wasting any time responding to people like Jim? Keep in mind that wise conversation is way over the head of fools;
in a serious discussion they haven't a clue. Prov. 24:7).
This is for my people only:
We all know that Black people no matter what their shade is age better than most caucasians. The melanin in our skin is a natural God-given protectant from the sun.

No Jim, you got it all wrong, the more melonin in the skin the least likely you are to age. Blacks mixed with white tend to age much faster than pure blacks..the more color or dark pigamentation the younger you look, if you take care of yourself and avoid smoking especially.

Put Pattie Labelle 67 next to Helen Mirren 65
Susan Sarandon 62 next to Pam Grier 62...need I say more.
Blacks age better: plus when white women take off their make up its hard to recognize them. White women also must use make up at an early, early age.

How can you guys forget Diahann Carroll and Tina Turner, both in their 70's and still look like they're in their mid 50's. Also, the singer SADE who is 52, and still looks the same today (and even more beautiful) like when she first burst onto the scene back in 1984.

I agree that Blacks appears to age better. However, I don't agee with everyone on this list. They all look well for their ages but they are cracking. Every since "Single Ladies" debutted, many people are speaking on Stacey Dash. Yes, I agree she looks good but she doesn't look like the young lady from "Clueless". She's definitely showing signs of aging. Sometimes I think females don't treat the neck as they do their face. Therefore, the neck looks older which somewhat give their ages away. I also find that some tend to go harder on the exercise regime when they start aging. I think you appear harder and older when you over do it. This best describes Jada. I don't see anything vibrant or soft about her anymore. I love Angela Bassett but she is really starting to show her age. Oprah doesn't make the list either. Just my opinion.
Fortunately, we age better but you guys seem to be comparing our better black celebs with the worst white celebs. They're a few white women who look good for their ages as well. As someone stated "anyone can look good as long as you take good care of yourself". It starts from the inside out. Personally, I'm more amazed when I see everyday people. I'm not throwing shade on celebs but they have to and should look good. Their in the public eye and their job depends on their appearance. I must add that they have money to hire chefs to prepare healthy meals, personal trainers, weekly facials, expensive creams and you better believe Blacks are having just as many procedures - collagen injections, face lifts, botox, etc... as others.

@Jim the actor in the photo Stacey Dash is African American and Mexican which might have something to do with her youthful appearance. She does not have a white parent or she'd probably look a lot older than she does.
