According to the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 207, 090 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 and 39, 840 women will die from the disease. Further more, African-American women have the second highest incidence of getting breast cancer in the U.S. These startling statistics only make events such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that much more important.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month has gained the attention of many in the past few decades and it's not just because the rising statistics.
