Every season, makeup artists send models down the runways with a certain brow shape and declare that it will be the hot new way for ladies to get their eyebrows done. Your brow shape, however, should not be determined by makeup artists, but by what works best for you. To determine your best brow shape, you should turn to a pro to give you the shape that best suits your face. A visit to a professional every couple of months will help you maintain the shape on your own.
If you have fine brows, tweezing is probably the best bet, because it is easier to control fewer hairs. For those of you with brows with a medium thickness, waxing will remove hair faster than tweezing, so it is less painful. If you have extremely thick brows, threading is fast, and it removes the thick coarse hairs as quickly as the thin ones.

Now that you have determined the best shape for your face, it's pretty simple to maintain. The first step is to tame your brows. This means trimming any long hairs or hair that grows downward. To grab the thicker hairs, it's easier with slant-tipped tweezers. For the finer hairs, needle-tip thin tweezers will work wonders.
After you have gotten rid of the hairs that will not play nice, it is time to clean up the stray hairs around your eyebrow. Use white eyeliner, like Rimmel Soft Kohl Kaja Eye Liner Pencil ($3.99, walgreens.com) to draw a line around the shape as a guide so you don't go overboard with the plucking.

Once your shape is in tip-top condition, use an eyebrow pencil to fill in any areas where the hair is sparse. Light pencil strokes mimic hair so it's not as obvious that you filled your brows in. After you're done filling, set them with a clear brow gel, such as CoverGirl Professional Mascara in clear ($5, cvs.com).
