Create a Sun-Kissed Glow With Body Shimmer

The start of summer is upon us, and what better way to welcome it than with shimmery skin. It seems as if every celebrity has the glossiest legs ever! Don't reach for the Crisco just yet. We have a few suggestions that will have your legs glistening in no time!
Shimmer body lotions are good if you want a more subtle sheen. You can make your own by adding shimmer like MAC Pigment ($19.50, maccosmetics.com) to your lotion of choice, or you can try the Body Shop's Satsuma Shimmer lotion ($18, thebodyshop-usa.com). The lotion is supposed to "leave your skin feeling soft, smooth and shimmering with a light, easily absorbed moisturizer.
If the shimmer lotion from the Body Shop is more than you were looking to spend on some shine, Olay Quench Therapy Body lotion ($5, walgreens.com) is a thriftier alternative that works just as well.

In order for you skin to shine the way that it should once the shimmer lotion is applied, it's important to exfoliate your legs. The light reflecting pigments only highlight imperfections so reach for a scrub to prep legs. You don't want the shimmer to look cakey, so go on and wash the dead skin away! St. Ives Body Polish with Oatmeal and Shea Butter ($8.29, drugstore.com) will be sure to do the trick.

If you don't want your gams to steal all the shine, you can even add touches of shimmer to your face and décolletage with bronzing powder. Despite what you make have heard, brown girls can wear bronzer, too. To give your face a sun-kissed glow, apply the bronzer, like Physicians Formula Pearls of Perfection Multi-Colored Powder Bronzer ($12, drugstore.com), on the outside of your face to sculpt your features.
