Essence has a new beauty director and her name is Corynne L. Corbett. Corbett is now in charge of "executing the overall beauty vision for the magazine."
"Beauty is indigenous to the Essence brand and an absolute obsession to the Essence audience. From hair to make-up to skincare, I am looking forward to showing all the ways in which we are beautiful," she said of her new role.
Previously Corbett worked as executive editor of Real Simple magazine. She oversaw the fashion, beauty, and food coverage as well as serving as the beauty/wellness director for the magazine. Corbett has also worked in Elle's beauty department and was a regular contributor to Essence. She is the founder and chief executive officer of Chic Jones Media LLC, which owns "That Black Girl Site."

Good, maybe this will help to get ESSENCE back on track so that it can continue to be the iconic voice for Black Beauty in the magazine industry.
