Get Bright-Eyed for the Warm Months

Looking for a way to brighten up those eyes for your summer look? You're in luck, because celebrities have already been rocking the vibrant, statement eyes this spring that will also be hot for summer. These four eye shadow shades will be bringing in summer in a major way.

Violet:
As we can see by Ms. Keri Baby's Grammy look, purple and lavenders are a great shade to make any eye color stand out. We love Estee Lauder's new Bronze Goddess Liquid EyeShadow in Ultra Violet ($17.50, www.esteelauder.com) to take any summer look from day to night.

Blue: Blue eye shadow has always been controversial in the world of beauty, but as
Chanel Iman showed us when she rocked blue lids on the runway and Estelle showed us at the Red Heart event, blue eyes can look great on a variety of skin tones. If you're feeling bold, Bare Essentials bare Minerals Glimmer Eyeshadow in Ell-If-I-Know ($13, sephora.com) might be the one for you.

White:
White eye shadow was one of the biggest statements on the Spring and Summer 2010 runways, and Rihanna's Grammy look is a great example of how white shadow can leave you looking fresh-faced and gorgeous. For a more dramatic look, try a pure, matte white on lids or as a liner, or for a more glamorous look such as Rihanna's, try a shimmery white like Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Polyester Bride ($17, urbandecay.com).

Green: A vivid green will bring out your summer glow and make your eyes sparkle. MAC's new "To the Beach Collection" hits stores on May 27th, and the collection's Sweety and Punchy ($14.50, maccosmetics.com) yellow-green eye shadow will be the perfect companion for your summer nights.

Bonus Tip: If you aren't quite sure if you're bold enough to try these shades across your entire lid, try using any of these shades as an eyeliner: dip a slim eyeliner brush in your desired shade and trace your lower and upper lids with the shadow for a less dramatic but still eye-popping look.
