Mary J. Blige's
latest project is titled 'My Life,' but the nine-time Grammy award winner isn't re-releasing the seminal album that cemented her cult status among women. The 'My Life' project is a fragrance that Blige is releasing through Carol's Daughter, the soulful beauty brand that she co-owns along with Jay-Z, Jada Pinkett Smith and founder Lisa Price.

Blige's fragrance, which will be released through HSN on July 31, is "a special tribute to us as women," she said. "My fans and I are smart now. We know we're smart now, but we didn't know it then. We know we're beautiful now, we didn't know it then. We're educated now, we didn't know it then. We're soft, we're edgy -- we're all those things. And I wanted this perfume to represent every female's everyday life."

'My Life' was created by Blige and a family member, Pamela Baxter, the singer's aunt-in-law who also happens to be President and CEO of LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics North America. Baxter was able to help Blige sniff out her new scent, which includes notes of gardenia, Bartlett pear, white freesia. The main body or "heart" of the fragrance is tuberose, blooming jasmine, gold lily and apricot flower with hints of earthiness courtesy of cashmere woods, praline, sesame and incense.

Along with the sell of 'My Life' on the network, Blige will appear on HSN to debut a documentary about her life.

Each 1.7 oz. bottle of 'My Life' is priced at $46 with $1 going to Blige's Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN). FFAWN operates the Mary J. Blige Center for Women in Yonkers, New York--Blige's hometown--and provides educational opportunities, job training and child care for women.
