Kerry Washington and Zoe Saldana, two of our favorite actresses, both made the prestigious "Most Beautiful" list in this week's issue of People magazine.
Saldana, who posed for the magazine in natural makeup and a wavy bob that reached her shoulders, chatted about her definition of beauty.
"My idea of beauty is more internal, it's inside," she told the magazine. "If you don't feel beautiful on the inside, there's just no projection."
Washington, who is gearing up for the release of her latest film 'Mother in Child,' agreed to shoot her photos completely without makeup, a practice that's becoming something of a trend for the magazine industry, with stars like Jessica Simpson, who covered May's Marie Claire' bare-faced, and model Joy Bryant and Kim Kardashian, who appeared in Harper's Bazaar nude without the aid of Photoshop.
"This was a real adventurous challenge today, to do a photo shoot with no makeup on," Washington told People, which shot the star with a mane of long, loose curls. "When I was changing outfits, I would look in the mirror, 'Oh my God, we're actually doing this with no makeup!'"
Despite her nerves, she's happy to show her real self to fans.
"I think that's great, too, because I do think that people come to People magazine because they want to see how celebs look and are really," Washington continued. "When you see someone without makeup, you have a little bit more of a window of who they really are."
The actress, who made the magazine's list once before in 2007, said she thinks beauty is subjective.
"It's obviously an honor, but it's strange because it's an honor that I think I can't take any credit for. I just send the issue to my parents and say, 'Thanks for getting it on.'"

Yes James these two sisters look great without makeup but some of the sisters need all the help that they can get, this is not a put down, this is just the way it is, that's why they make cosmetic to help in certain areas.

Zoe is pretty, but I am not a fan of Kerry after her nose job made her look more "european". I guess she was trying to look more like her mother.

It's really starting to make me damn sick! Why always do who ever is doing the choosing? for beautiful black women alway got to pick blacks that have in some way european likeness in the image department. We have a vast abundance of pure beautiful black women in the acting field such as gabby union and angela bassett among so many others of our kind. In some blacks warp minds who do the voting and electing on this beauty affair, thinks that mix race black women that have dark skin but white features is their perfect idea of perfection. It take very ignorant self haters to feel this way about the beauty of our women. I'm not hating on biracial women, I'm just sick and tired of out own people putting our women second and they are to dumb to not be aware of the harm that they are causing to the young females who will think that so how they must look european to be considered beautiful and not have pride in their blackness which is beauty in it's self. Our woman takes second place to none!!
