Chilli of TLC: The One "Scrub" That Gets Love

Forget that she used to date pop icon Usher or appears to currently have a thing going on with boxer Floyd Mayweather, and totally disregard the fact that her reality series, 'What Chilli Wants', is currently a hit on VH1. Black Voices recently chatted with Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and, like most, we were instantly rendered speechless by her strikingly ageless beauty. Since Chilli, one-third of TLC, stepped on the scene in 1992, not much has changed in her looks at all. From her signature baby hairs to her flawless clear skin, the 39-year-old mom could still easily pass for 25.

The new reality star shared with us some of her beauty secrets and the one product she can't live without.

Chilli admitted that, like everyone else, she's very conscious of maintaining a young, vibrant look.

"We know how it is, when we look in the mirror we start critiquing ourselves and noticing our flaws," Chilli said." I just don't dwell on them. I'm always like, what can I do to make my skin tighter and take care of myself better?"

Obviously her skin regimen and maintenance has paid off. She reveals that keeping a fresh face doesn't require any special procedures or a lifelong search for the fountain of youth.

"There are a couple of reason many of us age prematurely. Not drinking enough water, not getting enough rest, or exfoliating regularly, and on top of that the wear and tear the environment does to your skin. Being mindful of these things can fight the aging process," Chilli explained, adding that the use of certain products to combat aging can do more harm than help.

"The wrong products will age you," Chilli said, "But there are a few products that I like at different times of the year. The one thing I swear by is good facial scrub, because you have to exfoliate."

At the top of Chilli's list?

"Cellbone, it's a rice scrub with shea butter in it. So no matter how much you scrub your face to get the first layer off it doesn't dry your skin out. So you get to remove that top layer and add moisture. it's awesome."

Cellbone's Collagen Rejuvenating Rice Scrub ($22, cellbone.com) includes not only Shea butter, but 5% Alpha Hydroxy Acid and green tea to rejuvenate, hydrate and firm the skin. With a cosign from Chilli, who says it's the product is, "the best one out there," we feel it might be worth a try.
