Although starting on a negative note, I have to say this while presented with the opportunity. Thirty years ago or more(!) Origins was always an organic toiletries line obviously made by experts who knew which herbs did what most effectively on your skin (and presented in beautifully designed containers). I know that in the interim, we have become more aware of how important it is that the container itself be AOK, but somehow the designs went by the goodbye side and gradually the products themselves became in far too many cases completely unavailable to those of us who loved them and depended upon them.
So although I am willing to again give them a try, are you aware of the wonderful products made by Dr.Haushka and sold through Garnet Hill on-line as well as through local distributors around the US as well as overseas? A full line of toiletries good for your skin and with a proven record plus cosmetics with reputable purity.
A fall back you might want to investigate that is also internationally known is L'Occitane, hair products and skin care that is extraordinary and produced in Provence,France where women of mixed African/European ancestry have enjoyed plant-based beauty-care for thousands of years. L'Occitane is available throughout the world and may be a pricier habit to get into, has also had some economic cut-back days but is still producing effective beautifiers. One thing that has failed to impress me are how they have developed their scents in eau de toilette and eau de parfum. On the page, it looks and sounds exotic but does not live up to all that.
For a more truly exotic product, redflower.com as well as Garnet Hill makes available hamman body products for the bath (or, hamman), and has a boutique on Prince street in NYC that provides the real deal. I have become addicted to their Amber-Cardamom oil over the last few years. It prevents "ash" on the skin surface in the winter months of indoor heating but provides a glamourous scent while doing so. You have to experiment a little, now and then, for what suits you best.
