Lash Out With False Eyelashes

Comments (5)

You can have the best blush, the hottest gloss and shimmery shadow, but if your eyelashes can only be seen with a microscope, the whole look sort of falls flat. No one knows this better than celebrities, most of whom won't be seen taking out the garbage, let alone on the red carpet, without a fresh pair of false eyelashes. Check out some celebrity lash lovers and find out how to copy the look!

Mary J. Blige: She might go for no more drama in her life, but she certainly dramatic lashes. Check out the falsies MJB was sporting at the AMAs.
Oprah Winfrey: Her makeup artist has never had a light hand, and one thing Ms. Winfrey never skimps on his her false eyelashes.
Leona Lewis: At a recent radio event in the UK, British-born Lewis went for dewy, barely-there makeup, but she made sure had plenty of lashes!
Paula Patton: At an autumn event for her movie, 'Precious,' Patton played up her unique eyes with some out-to-there lashes.

Get celebrity-style dramatic lashes by applying false eyelashes -- it's easier than you think!

(Shu Uemura Smoky Layers, $25 Sephora.com)

Shu Uemura makes a variety of fabulous false lashes from very natural-looking lashes to far-out falsies.

False lashes not your thing? That's okay. You can still get some pretty awesome lashes with traditional mascara. My favorite formula for out to there lashes? Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara in Very Black ($7.49, drugstore.com).

Product tip: Because Lash Stiletto dries pretty fast and can clump if you try to apply too much, stick with two coats -- three at the max. And apply them quickly!
