The 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself' actress was sporting some may-jah false lashes at the 25th Independent Spirit Awards Nominations Tuesday along with a pale pink lipstick. Love 'em or leave 'em?
What makes you think they're false? My eyelashes are long and look just like that and they're not false. I hate it when people ask that question. My boys have super long lashes, too. Just because people have thick long lashes doesn't mean they're not real. My Dad, who's 81 has very long lashes. Some of us are just lucky...
The one thing I find to be disturbing, is why are you so called journalist must be so negative. As much criticism People of color have endure, why must they continued be criticize, come on what’s with the bashing. Sadly to say people of color have yet to reach the Plato where we can say it’s okay to give constructive criticism. Simply, because there are not, enough people of color to override the negativity. For every ten step people of color takes, someone in the media find a way to take them back 100 step backward. Instead of criticized Taraj make up, why don’t you take a look at the image that our so called Hip hop trend setter is sending to our young children. This image bashing is far too sensitive for people of color, to handle. We do not have very much of positive images of women of color so why tear down the ones that’s making a difference. Just for the record if you did your research you’ll find that Diana Ross wore big eye lashes back in the sixties, and she wasn’t ridicule for it so why start with Taraj. Just give it up; unless you have some kind of jealousy going on, if that is the case you’re in the wrong business.
Seriously - it's not a racial issue - so stop making it one. People of color my ass - come on - you are so wound up my sista - I for one don't take offense - I'm must just glad they gave notice to one of us! It's people who make comments like yours that make others want to tippy toe around us!
Kat and Cheerlay: I've seen her many times without those FAKE lashes ... repeat; she's beautiful and talented without the lashes. All of us at some period in our lives, have followed some fashion trend that did absolutely nothing to enhance our natural beauty or our bodies. It is called "trial and error." I'm sure she's capable of making her own decision as to whether the lashes did anything to accentuate her already beautifully almond shaped eyes. Nothing derogatory meant here ... Enough said. God bless you all!
I do not have any problem with her eye lashes, Personally I would wear them too, what I find to be disturbing is the fact, that this article is making it seems as if she’s done something wrong….as far making it a color issues, I am not making it a color issues, just pointing out that Taraj happen to be among a handful of positive women of color that’s making a difference in Hollywood. I don’t see why Black voices would post such negative article. Why must the article be about her eye lashes, seems that the journalist had nothing positive to say about her… (Just tired of all the negative journalislism) it all started with something small.

Just because you don't take offense to the article does not mean that someone else shouldn't. I can't believe you said:
"I'm must just glad they gave notice to one of us!"
