My skin is pale, pale white and I use Russian Red by MAC. Its the only red lipstick I will use. Its a great color because it doesn't have that orange undertone, its more blue. I think women of any skin color could pull that lipstick off. Its great too because its not glossy its very matte, so it doesn't feather out.

Well for fair skin I would still definitely recommend the colors they picked for Thandie, I use a discontinued limited edition color of MAC's named Red She Said from the Red She Said collection which came out last October and its beautiful a nice dupe is Russian Red...Russian Red may work it really all depends on your coloration and personal preference
MAC red is very nice its a bluish red..
Ruby Woo is a much more bluish red almost pink but still beautiful its more of a red that say Katy Perry would wear...
For a warmer tone there's Lady Danger which is a bright coral/orange red and its very beautiful it can be muted down with a clear gloss such as clear lipglass by MAC or really any brand of clear lipgloss if you feel the pigmentation is too much..
But personally if your hair is chestnut brown with red and gold I'm thinking MAC's Lady Danger and some clear gloss would be the ticket!
I work for MAC so I know the ins and outs of every color =]
