All of the magazines and blogs say it is the "it" lip color for fall, but I know many a brown-skin sista who has put in hours at the makeup counter searching for a red shade that will actually work with her skin color. Where is the red lipstick for black women?
Enter Saisha Beecham. The celebrity makeup artist stopped by the Black Voices studios recently to demonstrate her red lipstick technique on Ford model (and 'America's Next Top Model' alum) Bre Scullark and offer tips on how to find the right shade for different undertones. Watch and learn!

My audio was messing up...what was the red color and brand name the artist used on the model?

I don't think the video was messed up. It was really only demonstrating the techique of putting on the lipstick. She never gave the color or brand. Nice viewing but no info on different shades or brand names.

I have been wearing red for years because I have the skin tone for it. However I have never just found THE brand that has THE perfect shade for me. I have pretty much had to 'make' the right shade for me. Like the video said it starts with a good, deep burgundy or red pencil. If you are darker the burgundy can be a good choice and you can just blot and mix it with a deep red to get that perfect shade. Red lipstick can be very tenacious to deal with but if you have the skin tone, boy does it look good when done right!
